A new version of the outdoor investigations: a guided trail, designed for families, that shows off the city while you solve a mystery.
Jack & Mani is an online detective game, known for its interrogations of AI-driven characters. It runs with nothing to install, straight in the browser, in 7 languages and from age 10, at home as well as in the streets of a real city. It is that second side, the outdoor mode, that is changing today. More elaborate and built for families, it turns a city into an investigation ground: the game builds a trail that takes players past nearby landmarks, so they discover the place while solving a mystery.
Players are given a trail to follow. Before setting off, a preview shows the distance, the estimated duration and the elevation, with a button to generate a different route if this one does not suit. Along the way they meet characters and clues to question in order to move the story forward. The case is solved once the three pieces of the mystery come together: the culprit, the weapon and the motive.
Unlike the previous version, conversations with characters rely on questions you pick rather than free typing. The experience is more guided and more accessible, suited to children from age 10 and to outings with family or friends. Because the trail runs past the city's landmarks, the investigation also becomes an original way to visit a place, at home or on holiday.
At home, Jack & Mani stays true to what made its name: free written interrogations with AI-driven characters, whose answers you have to cross-check to spot the contradictions. Because the conversation is not scripted, no two players ever run the same interrogation. Outdoors, the focus shifts to guided family exploration. Two complementary experiences, one shared goal: unmask the culprit.
An outdoor investigation can also be played as a group, with up to twenty players on the same trail. Everyone progresses on their own phone, with their own access, and the game's leaderboard updates as discoveries come in. Enough to turn a family outing or a get-together into a collective investigation.

« I wanted to offer entertainment unlike what already exists: something positive, that brings the family together around a single investigation. You solve a mystery together, you head out to explore, you discover new places, and you share a real moment instead of everyone sitting behind their own screen. »
